The Mercantour territory

With a length of 150 km, the territory extends over six valleys in the Southern Alps and covers two departments of France: the Alpes-Maritimes for about two-thirds of its surface, and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The crystalline massif of the Mercantour National Park has valleys filled with the scents of the Mediterranean, Provence, the Alps and Italy. Verdon, Cians-Var, Ubaye, Tinée, Vésubie and Roya-Bévéra: each valley has its own distinct character!

The Mercantour Écotourisme association, as its name suggests, develops ecotourism, a form of responsible travel in natural areas that contributes to the protection of the environment and the well-being of local populations. Alongside the Mercantour National Park, it is a member of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST).

Their values, their background

Martine et Pascal LÉGER ont repris la direction du gîte d’étape Les Marmottes en 2020. Comme leurs prédécesseurs, ils ont à cœur de vous faire découvrir leur havre de paix, situé aux portes du Parc National du Mercantour. Passionnés par leur métier et par la nature, ils partageront leur amour de la région et rendront votre séjour des plus agréables.

Convivialité et échange seront au rendez-vous lors de votre étape au Gîte les Marmottes situé au beau fortifié village de Valdeblore entre Tinée et Vésubie.
