The Mercantour territory

With a length of 150 km, the territory extends over six valleys in the Southern Alps and covers two departments of France: the Alpes-Maritimes for about two-thirds of its surface, and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The crystalline massif of the Mercantour National Park has valleys filled with the scents of the Mediterranean, Provence, the Alps and Italy. Verdon, Cians-Var, Ubaye, Tinée, Vésubie and Roya-Bévéra: each valley has its own distinct character!

The Mercantour Écotourisme association, as its name suggests, develops ecotourism, a form of responsible travel in natural areas that contributes to the protection of the environment and the well-being of local populations. Alongside the Mercantour National Park, it is a member of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST).

Their values, their background

Nous avons déserté la Côte d’Azur en Juillet 2005 pour trouver calme et sérénité et redécouvrir les vrais valeurs en achetant une ancienne bâtisse dite « dommages de guerre » située à Maison Méane en haute vallée de l'Ubaye, dernier Hameau avant la frontière Italienne.

Cette maison chargée d’histoire a été rénovée pour accueillir les randonneurs pédestres, à skis, cyclistes etc … en dortoir, en chambre d’hôtes ou en gite.

Chalet du Germas is a haven of peace, harsh in winter, gentle in summer. You'll spend your vacations in the Alps, close to the Col de Larche at an altitude of 1800 m.
